About

The JASRG (Judge Appointment Scheme Review Group) were tasked with bringing the GCCF a new judge training programme designed to meet the needs of today’s cat fancy. The new training programme needed to be more dynamic to provide the GCCF with more judges whilst retaining the high standard of training expected for a GCCF judge.

The new judge training programme provides training to candidates by Imperial/Grand Group rather than one breed at a time. And rather than BACs being responsible for judge training and progression, we now have JPGs with those responsibilities with BACs remaining integral to the judge training process.

It was realised early on that a level of acceptance would be needed by those working in the new scheme that not every single eventuality will be anticipated within the new GCCF Judge Training Document. Having said that, it is vitally important to stress that candidates will never be disadvantaged and with the wealth of experience on the BACs, JPGs and the JASRG and a common sense approach the new judge training programme will meet the needs of the modern cat fancy.
